Voltage Power Optimisation

No other technology optimises your electricity power supply and reduces your energy consumption, costs and carbon footprint, whilst also giving you greater supply security and protection from transients.  The technology is proven science - the application of the technology a wee bit less straightforward.

The fact is however that 90% of buildings use more electricity than they need and Voltage Power Optimisation can help to:

  • reduce kWh consumption by up to 20% and hence carbon emissions

  • reduce electricity costs by up to 22%

  • reduce maintenance costs

  • reduce carbon emissions by up to 22%

  • reduce reactive power by up to 45% and hence improve power quality and power factor

  • protect electrical equipment from transients and suppress harmonics

Is it suitable for your business? Will you save electricity?
Voltage Power Optimisation is currently achieving savings across all types of businesses from office buildings to manufacturing sites and engineering works to refrigeration stores, warehouses, data centres, call centres, leisure centres, galleries and farms.

What are the guarantees?
My advice is never to buy this type of technology unless it comes with a performance guarantee which can only come as a result of a site survey by a specialist contractor.  I am pleased to advise that the three main companies involved in supply of these systems in the UK all provide an ethical service and price their equipment according to what is costs to fit not what it might save you over a 2-year period for example.  The only real decision is whether a fixed tap or variable tap solution is best for your business - not everyone supplies both options and I can help you get the best fit from the most cost-effective supplier.  I have no axe to grind for any manufacturer and am not paid any form of commission for the sale of VPO equipment - what you get from me is simple, no-nonsense, independent advice.

Contact me to help you achieve your financial and carbon reduction targets through Voltage Power Optimisation.

Most of the suppliers will provide a free initial evaluation process.....

To find out the size of your opportunity to save electricity, money and emissions there are 4 simple and free steps to complete to know accurately what the cost/value of an installation is at your site/s:

Step 1 - Please send me the following data, which will remain confidential

A. The highest maximum demand in the last year for each of the incoming supplies to your building (from this I can size the unit required)

B. The total kWh consumption for the last 12 months on each incoming supply.

C. The cost of supply for the last 12 months including CCL if you are not buying “Green” or your price per kWh for the next year.

Send the data on any sites that you would like financially assessed, I will send you an estimate of the installation cost/value of the voltage optimisation equipment and email it back to you for your review before the next step.

Step 2 - If you like the numbers – I will get a data-logger sent to you.

The voltage logger will be sent recorded delivery and you simply plug it into a 3 pin plug point for a week to measure your voltage profile, and return it to me to analyse. I will send you your existing voltage profile and your optimisation level with an amended calculator page

Step 3 - Next I need to survey the site.

If you are happy with the financials and wish to go ahead I will arrange for an engineer to survey your site and cost the installation, so that I can give you the capped cost and estimated savings.

As a result of the survey I will put together a full proposal at this stage, outlining what the technology is; the process that has been undertaken to evaluate the costs, the opportunity for optimisation and the savings.  This will also include the terms and conditions, guarantees, insurances and also relevant case studies. The proposal is intended to act as a full report that can be taken straight to the decision makers to demonstrate the business case.

Step 4 - Installation

If your unit is held in UK stock it can be delivered immediately or if it needs to be ordered, delivery time is typically 8 to 12 weeks. Delivery and installation will be arranged at a time that best suits your operational requirement and the unit can be installed by either your preferred electrical contactor or the suppliers own installation contractor. Installation time varies with the size of the unit and will take anything from 2hrs upwards with pre-cabling conducted first to minimise the required shut down time.
